About Us
Mission Statement
"Firetec© seeks to
maintain its nationwide leadership in the used fire apparatus brokerage
and resale market by serving both buyers and sellers with full disclosure
of all relevant information.
We strive to negotiate
a fair price for sellers and at the same time make certain that
buyers get full value for their money. We pledge to you we will
perform as an "honest broker" in all transactions, recognizing
our role as a representative of BOTH buyer and seller."
What We Do
- We act as a broker of used apparatus,
finding buyers for departments selling trucks with useful life left
in them.
- We assist fire apparatus dealers by
providing an efficient outlet for trade apparatus. Firetec takes over
the sale of the used units, which enables dealers to focus on their
new apparatus deals. Call early so we can "pre-sell" the
trades being taken in on new apparatus.
- We advertise in national full-color
print magazines and on our websites at firetec.com and usedfiretrucks.com. More than half our sales originate from internet inquiries and inventory
is updated online every single day. The Firetec© website is the only website in the industry with up-to-the-minute fire truck inventory. New listings and price changes are posted several times a day!
Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose Firetec©’s brokerage service over a used fire truck dealer?
Firetec© strives to find the perfect truck for each buyer, searching through our extensive database of department-owned vehicles. We don’t have a storage facility with inventory we need to move so we will never be pushing a truck we own over a truck you own -- because we don’t own them.
Why should I sell through Firetec© when I can put my truck up for auction?
Vehicle auctions generate only a very small percentage of the apparatusŐ actual value. When you sell through Firetec©, you get retail value for your unit, as it goes directly to a department. Auction buyers tend to be private parties and dealers looking to make big bucks on your truck!
What does it cost to list with Firetec©?
Nothing until we sell your truck. There are NO hidden fees, NO up-front fees. Firetec© earns 10% straight commission upon sale of your apparatus.
Why wouldn’t I sign with one of those new discount brokerage services?
You get what you pay for. Give us a call and we’ll be glad to discuss the Firetec© difference.
Is there an advertising fee?
NO. Firetec pays for all national magazine advertising and posts your truck on our popular website, www.usedfiretrucks.com free of charge. Our online inventory is updated daily so we get inquiries 24-hours a day from departments who constantly search our site.
Do I have to sign an exclusive agreement with Firetec©?
NO. Firetec© sells over 200 trucks every year and has been selling nationwide since 1983. We are confident that we can sell your good used fire truck and earn commission only when we provide the customer to you.
What if my truck is not yet available?
Firetec© has waiting buyers. Departments needing good used fire trucks will await delivery. Let us list it before it’s available so you get maximum advertising exposure in advance!
